Job Description and Duties

This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

Under the direction of the Section Manager, the Office Technician (OT) acts as attendance coordinator and clerical support for Analyst unit and Printing Services. The OT also provides back-up database support to Mail Services Unit, which processes, updates, and maintains the department’s address database. Responsible for preparing, processing, and reviewing all reports and correspondence for spelling, punctuation and correct formatting related to attendance, payroll, staffing, health benefits, training, and dock reports. Trains backup coordinator. Routes confidential documents, such as adverse actions, performance appraisals, probation reports, and accident reports to appropriate personnel. Assists in the unit's workload report by gathering data and reporting findings to appropriate staff. Maintains and orders general office supplies. Prepares and signs all regular supply orders. Prepares paperwork for manager signature for vendor supplies. Screens incoming telephone calls and routes to the appropriate personnel as required.

Working Conditions

Primarily sedentary for extended periods of time. Operates a computer terminal calculating time, filing, typing and organizing documents using hard and soft copies on the computer. Ability to communicate effectively.
