job_description.job_card.job_descriptionWork in the ICU caring for neurosurgical, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis, MODS, heart failure, and post-cardiac cath patients Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1 : 2 to 1 : 3 Patient populations include post-neurosurgical, post-stroke, and other critical care cases Night shift position with 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, including every other weekend and holidays Floating to Stepdown Unit, ED, or MedSurg to care for ICU patients being held may be required EPIC EMR is used and proficiency is required Responsibilities include managing complex neuro and critical care patients, including vent management and telemetry monitoring Must be willing to float to other units to care for ICU patients Holiday coverage required during contract Three hours of pre-start modules required and must be completed before starting Two professional references required for consideration First-time travelers will be considered if all requirements are met Time off requests must be submitted with application and will be considered case by case Active VA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required Strong neuro critical care experience, including post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke care, with experience in vents, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, dysrhythmia, and emergency management Three years of critical care experience preferred but strong candidates with less experience will be considered Proficiency with EPIC EMR required Must provide a valid driver's license for address verification Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility No prior license or background hits allowed Must pass facility fit testing requirements without a PAPR and have no fit test issues Must pass EKG testing (minimum 80%) with no remediation offered High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
