This is a full-time position located at the State Museum in New Orleans LA.
The Carpenter Foreman is responsible for the supervision and oversight of scheduling reviewing installing repairing and maintaining all carpentry tasks as related to the Louisiana State Museum system.
The Louisiana State Museums collections and educational programs stimulate awareness and appreciation of our states rich and diverse history and culture.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience :
Four years of experience or training in the carpentry trade.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties :
The Louisiana State Museum system includes the following : Cabildo Creole House Jackson House Arsenal Presbytere Madame Johns Legacy Collection Facility Lower Pontalba including all commercial and residential spaces 1850 House and the Old U.S. Mint all located in New Orleans. Also included are : E.D. White House in Thibodaux Wedell Williams Aviation and Cypress Sawmill Museum in Patterson Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Regional History Museum in Natchitoches and the Capitol Park Museum in Baton Rouge.
Position-Specific Details :
Appointment Type : This will be filled as a probational appointment. Current permanent status state employees may be required to accept a probational appointment.
Work Schedule : This is a full-time position that will report in-office. This position may be required to work evenings weekends and / or holidays. This position may be required to travel and / or work overtime.
Location : This position will be located in New Orleans LA.
