Job Title : Quality Engineer

Location : Orange, CT

Type : Direct Hire

Salary : $100-110K plus 10-20% bonus

  • Pension after 1 year
  • 401k starts day 1
  • Benefits start day 1

Position Overview :

Lighthouse Professional Services , is seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our client in Orange, CT.

As a Quality Engineer, you will provide technical expertise in various quality areas under the guidance of the Quality Systems Manager. This role focuses on the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for processes, materials, and products, emphasizing compliance with Nuclear industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop processes, procedures, and documentation to meet Nuclear customer and industry-specific requirements (NQA-1 compliance).
  • Coordinate and respond to customer quality requests, requirements, and concerns related to products. Travel may be required.
  • Prepare and submit NQA / AIAG or customer-specific PPAP / FAI documentation.
  • Manage Corrective Action / NCR / NCMR / SCAR resolution, including creating RMA documentation.
  • Identify and implement quality improvements based on customer, facility, and quality standards.
  • Lead and participate in internal and external supplier audits.
  • Train team members on quality tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, TS, and Control Plans).
  • Utilize and calibrate measurement systems and develop electronic databases to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Meet with customers or suppliers to address quality issues and conduct audits as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental policies and ISO 14001 standards.

    • Required Skills & Experience :

  • BS / BA degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer or equivalent role.
  • Experience with nuclear compliance requirements and quality systems is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and experience developing PPAP / FAI submission information.
  • Familiarity with NQA-1, IATF, ISO-9001 / AS-9100 QMS standards.
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and the ability to coach others.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience working on heavily regulated government projects is a plus.
