Purpose / Summary
This 20 hours / week Position will provide assistance to the AEC and CAD Faculty and students over the course of the AY 2025
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintaining open Studio 104 hours during the Fall and Spring Semesters for students registered and matriculating in the Architectural Technology, CAD, and EGG programs to utilize equipment and digital software located there in order to facilitate completion of assigned coursework outside of class meeting times. This includes regular dusting and superficial cleaning of work surfaces, organization and maintenance of makerspace materials and tools, and familiarization of students with Studio 104 use protocols. (40%)
2. Develop skills and knowledge base to employ the Laser Cutter and 3D Printers in the service of Architectural Technology-CAD-EGG coursework. The Assistant will also help to orient Faculty in the use of these devices for Fall and Spring Semester courses when the need arises. (25%)
3. Provide administrative assistance as needed for the Chair and Faculty of the Architectural Technology program. Relevant tasks will include maintenance of supplies and general order of the Digital lab; printing, scanning, and filing; maintenance of the Architectural Technology and CAD library resources; and occasional assistance of students accessing the software located in the Digital Lab. (35%)
Qualifications
Preference given to students in the Architectural Technology, Graphic Design, or Engineering programs.
Preferred applications competency : Knowledge of or competencies in any of the following : AutoCAD, Solidworks, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite..
No previous work experience required.
Supplemental Information
Working understanding of general IT systems and applications, including Windows and the Microsoft Office suite; good command of written and spoken English.
