About the Role
The Company is in search of a strategic Vice President of Software Engineering to take on a pivotal leadership role in a fully distributed environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance, culture, and delivery of the entire software engineering function, with a focus on scaling and optimizing the engineering organization. This role demands a high-impact leader who can set the standard for engineering excellence and is adept at both mentoring and developing the next layer of leaders. Key responsibilities include owning the overall performance and output of the software engineering organization, defining and improving developer performance metrics, and partnering with cross-functional leadership to align engineering roadmaps with business objectives. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years of progressive software engineering leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a VP Engineering or similar role within a large engineering organization. The role requires a proven track record in building and leading remote or distributed engineering teams, deep expertise in developer performance metrics, and exceptional leadership and mentoring skills. The ideal candidate will also have a strong background in administrative and operational leadership, experience in owning end-to-end engineering OKRs, and a demonstrated ability to recruit and retain senior engineering talent. While not mandatory, a technical background in PHP / Laravel ecosystems and AWS-based infrastructure, as well as familiarity with modern backend architectures and CI / CD practices, is preferred.
