YL Staff Associate I

Summary :

Through both formal training and direct field ministry experience, learn how to effectively carry out and manage Young Life ministry.

Ministry Functions :

Spiritual Development - "Following Jesus" includes prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health and church relationships.

• Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer and a sincere commitment to understanding God's Word.
• Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines, in the context of active participation in a church community.
• Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
• Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.

Leadership Development - "Equipping leaders, committee and staff" includes key volunteer care, recruiting, team building and training, supervision and vision casting.

Resource Development - "Fueling the ministry" includes events, major donor care, public relations (branding) and TDS team.

Direct Ministry - "Proclaiming and modeling" includes contact work, club, Campaigners and camp.

Ministry Support - "Taking care of business" includes accounting, administration, communication (internal), data management and strategic plan.

The McKinney Young Life area is prayerfully seeking to hire a staff associate to lead high school ministry at the original high school in McKinney, Texas - McKinney High School. The area currently has a healthy, thriving ministry presence at all three public high schools, as well as WyldLife, YoungLives, and Capernaum. In partnership with the Area Director and volunteer leader team, we are looking for someone to help grow and develop the existing ministry that has been non-stop present at this school since 2017, but first established in 2005. This is a thriving area with a great tradition of Young Life, community support, and incredible ministry to students. McKinney is arguably one of the most unique suburbs in the Metroplex offering historic downtown McKinney as well as a value for the arts and recreational spaces.
