Adjunct Faculty Member
The New England School of Acupuncture seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and assessment for the acupuncture program. The selected candidate will bring subject matter expertise to the responsibilities of teaching on site biomedical patient assessment.
This course provides students with an understanding of how a physical examination is used in the evaluation and assessment of the patient in the development of a working diagnosis. The fundamentals of the physical examination of the integumentary system, head and neck, thorax and lungs, heart and peripheral vascular system, abdomen, musculoskeletal system, nervous system and reproductive system are covered, including history-taking, palpation, percussion and auscultation, as well as laboratory testing, imaging studies and other diagnostic instrumentation. At the completion of the course the students will be able to assess their patients according to physical findings, symptoms, signs, lab work and other diagnostic testing modalities.
This is a spring term, 2-credit, 30-hour in-person course for third year students and is scheduled for Wednesdays 8 : 15am-10 : 25am on the Worcester campus. The spring semester runs Monday January 13th Friday April 25th 2025 (14 weeks).
