Title : 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician

Location : Montgomery, IL

Hire Type : Direct Hire

Pay : $28-35 / hr

Job Summary :

  • We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our clients Packaging Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining all machinery within the packaging area while ensuring a safe and high-quality production environment.

Job Duties :

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Understand PLC ladder logic and industrial electrical systems.
  • Perform building and masonry repairs.
  • Install, service, and repair electric motors, heaters, coolers, refrigerators, and other related equipment using various hand and power tools.
  • Move and replace machinery and auxiliary apparatus using hand and electric trucks, forklifts, and dollies.
  • Replace fuses, light bulbs, circuit breakers, electric switches, and other electrical equipment.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports related to equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Prepare written reports on projects and equipment conditions.
  • Ensure proper use, care, and storage of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • Work from sketches, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical systems to the component level.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and test machinery parts as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications :

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Four years of experience in mechanical or electrical trades preferred.
  • Completion of a recognized vocational training program in mechanical or electrical trades may be substituted for two years of experience.
  • Knowledge of accepted practices, processes, materials, and tools of the maintenance trades.
  • Familiarity with electric motors, generators, pumps, pressure systems, water systems, and other related equipment.
  • Experience servicing and maintaining power, heating, and cooling units.
  • Understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions in maintenance trades.
