WORK OBJECTIVE
Responsible for coordinating the City’s permitting services and managing Permit Technicians and other direct reports in the building Division. Ensures that permits are processed according to established policies and that excellent customer service is provided to building professionals and the general public. Position typically supervises employees and schedules day-to-day work activities to provide optimum efficiency and productivity. Position requires a complete understanding and wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in assigned function or business area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field. Five (5) years’ experience as a lead-worker or demonstrated ability to lead the work of others. Experience in development or construction permit office preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and / or experience. Must have a Permit Technician Certification or obtain within the probationary period of employment.
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
