School Based Dentist

Clinica Family Health & Wellness (CFHW), a nationally recognized Federally Qualified Health Center, and Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) are excited to announce an opening for a School-Based Dentist that will support our School Based Oral Health partnership. This model allows BVSD students to receive evidence-based preventative dental care based on their individual risk for cavities. The School Based Dentist will serve our patients in both school-based and integrated medical-dental settings.

The School-Based Dentist will practice evidence-based, prevention-focused clinical skills including hygiene instruction, topical fluoride, and sealants after evaluating patients for risk factors. This position reports to CFHW’s Clinical Dental Director.

This position will provide clinical and education services at the BVSD locations listed below. When not completing shifts at a BVSD location, you will provide all-age preventative dental care in an integrated health clinic.

Dental hygiene in the integrated health clinic :

Primarily responsible for the initiation and maintenance of the dental prevention and dental education program in an integrated medical setting, working with both medical and dental team members for coordination.

• Accurately and appropriately assess risk, application of fluoride treatments, and dissemination of oral health education to parents and children in the medical setting in one-on-one visits or in group visits. Identification of and assistance in patient establishment of a dental home.
• Maximize community linkages while acting as advocate for patients.
• Manage patient care and develop clinical guidelines within scope of dental hygiene practice.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :

Compensation : Approximately $63.05 - $75.29 per hour or $131,144 - $156,603 annualized. All individual pay rates are calculated based on the candidate's experience and internal equity.
