Job Summary :
FLIR Optical Systems Group (OSG) a division of FLIR systems, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of Infrared Optical Systems. Our lenses are vital components in the defense, high end commercial, and commercial industries. We are looking for a highly organized, motivated and experienced Buyer / Planner to join our Supply Chain department. The Buyer will purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets. The successful Buyer will be part of a worldclass Supply Chain Team.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities :
- Send and Manage RFQs with approved suppliers. Source new suppliers as needed
- Source components utilizing engineering or production drawings within the Approved Supplier List
- Generate Reqs & POs based on MRP Demand, Expense Requests or Service needs within the organization
- Manage MRP Material needs, component sourcing and limit any shortage requirements
- Work with Suppliers to resolve issues within NCMs, QA requirements or Capacity constraints.
- Plan, Schedule, and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle
- Set, maintain and adjust appropriate stock levels for systems in production
- Work with suppliers in scheduling in order to support production requirements.
- Work with suppliers with on time delivery, quality and cost objectives
- Provide analysis of costing against cost targets
- Perform cost reduction actives in order to maintain budgets and / or reduce costs
- Prepare reports and updates as needed (ERP reports as well as Microsoft Excel)
- Resolve shipment and invoice discrepancies
- Ensure accuracy of data in SAP, data entry as required
Job Qualifications :
