Kalogon, a smart seating startup based in Melbourne, seeks an experienced Director of Product Management to drive an expansion of our Product organization. Our team is actively awaiting you to make decisions and create pathways for our next generation of smart seating products across medical, Air Force, and interior applications. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience bringing hardware / IoT products from concept to market, with the ability to manage complex cross-functional initiatives and make strategic product decisions all while growing a team and delivering on our mission to eliminate the stresses of sitting and improve health through inventive seating technology.

What You’ll Do

Product Strategy & Development

  • Lead new product development initiatives across our three business lines, taking products from initial concept through market-ready launch
  • Drive next-generation updates to existing products, balancing customer needs with technical feasibility and business objectives
  • Define product roadmaps and prioritize features based on market research, customer feedback, and business impact
  • Make critical resource allocation decisions across multiple product lines in collaboration with leadership

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Architect and hire a product organization aligned to company goals
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to ensure technical specifications align with market requirements and manufacturing capabilities
  • Partner with sales, marketing, and business development to support go-to-market strategies and customer acquisition
  • Coordinate with finance, sales, and executive teams on product profitability analysis, pricing strategies, and investment decisions
  • Serve as a member of the Leadership team
  • Customer & Market Focus

  • Conduct regular customer visits and maintain direct relationships with key accounts across medical, government, and commercial segments
  • Gather and synthesize customer feedback to inform product decisions and identify new market opportunities
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings (travel ~10% of time, approximately one trip per month)
  • Stay current on market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory requirements across target industries
  • Skills & Experience Required

    Essential Experience

  • 7-10 years of product management experience with demonstrated success bringing hardware or connected device products to market, including understanding of all key constraints
  • Confidence to bring your ideas to the table while having the humility to consider the expertise of others
  • Able to read the room and capably share your perspective
  • Capable of deep empathy and compassion for key stakeholders, and able to discern the why behind the why
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience recruiting and mentoring team members and establishing product processes
  • Personal Attributes

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of time for customer visits, trade shows, and industry events
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or MPD preferred but not required
  • Preferred but not required

  • Startup experience preferred, with understanding of scaling challenges and limited resource management
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments, particularly in medical devices or government contracting
  • Experience with seating, furniture, or ergonomic products is a plus, but not essential

  • Reports to : CEO
  • Works with : Engineering, Production, Marketing, BD, Sales, Finance. Note that Kalogon has its own production facility, so you will see how what you are working on gets translated into manufacturing in real time.
  • Location : In-office in Melbourne, FL with some work from home flexibility
