Strategic and design Architect automation strategy
- Define and implement the overall automation strategy for EUC and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Design automation frameworks
- Create scalable, maintainable, and extensible automation frameworks and standards for enterprise-wide use.
- Assess business processes
- Evaluate existing IT and business processes to identify and prioritize automation opportunities that reduce costs and manual effort.
- Drive tool selection
- Evaluate and select automation tools, platforms, and technologies (e.g., RPA, scripting languages) that best fit the organizations requirements and technical environment.
- Implementation and governance
- Build and implement solutions
- Lead the design and implementation of automated solutions for EUC functions, such as software deployment, patching, provisioning, and self-service portals.
- Ensure security and compliance
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure automated workflows adhere to corporate policies and regulatory standards.
- Oversee deployments
- Manage and automate application deployment and upgrades across endpoints and virtual environments like VDI and Citrix using tools such as Microsoft Intune and ManageEngine.
- Document and standardize
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical solution guides and architecture diagrams, to standardize and govern automation practices.
- Collaboration and leadership
- Lead cross-functional collaboration
- Work closely with IT teams (e.g., DevOps, support), department heads, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver automation initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance
- Mentor junior automation engineers and provide technical leadership and expertise to project teams.
- Act as an advocate for automation
- Communicate the benefits of automation to employees and senior management to gain buy-in and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Stay current with technology
- Continuously research and assess emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in automation and EUC.
- Scripting and programming
- Expertise in languages such as Python, PowerShell, and bash scripting to develop and integrate automation solutions.
- Cloud platforms
- Strong knowledge of cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, especially in managing and deploying resources.
- Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
- Experience with IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning.
- Virtualization and VDI
- Deep understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware) and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments (e.g., Citrix).
- Endpoint management
- Hands-on experience with modern management platforms for endpoints and applications, such as Microsoft Intune.
- CICD pipelines
- Familiarity with CICD tools like Git and Jenkins for automating workflows.
- Operating systems
- Expertise in automating tasks on various operating systems, including Windows and Linux.
