Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Details :

Work 36 or 48-hour shifts per week (48-hour shifts preferred)

Guaranteed 36 hours per week with facility allowed to call off 3 times throughout 13-week assignment

Weekend coverage required as needed by unit, with maximum of 3 consecutive weekends

Float to adult RRT units as needed within scope of practice

Work with NICU and pediatric critical care patients with average daily census of 6-10 vents

Required certifications : New Mexico license, RRT, BLS, ACLS, NRP

Minimum 2 years of NICU / PICU experience required

Trauma Level I experience required

Must have high frequency jet ventilator experience (hard requirement)

Skills include endotracheal tube / suctioning, extubation, nasal / oral airway placement, tracheostomy suctioning, ABG interpretation

Work with specialized equipment including HFOV, HFJV, nitric oxide in Level I Trauma Center

Royal blue scrubs required

Cerner charting system

No RQI certifications accepted

COVID vaccination required with religious / medical exemptions accepted

Flu vaccine required with medical / religious exemptions only

Must live more than 75 miles from facility

New Mexico license can be pending at time of submission

Overtime must be pre-approved by client and approval is rare

The facility features 554 staffed beds and serves as a certified comprehensive stroke center. The organization maintains strict compliance requirements and provides specialized care including a Level III NICU, with advanced respiratory therapy services utilizing high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and other specialized respiratory interventions for both pediatric and adult patients.
