We are looking for an Insurance Verification Coordinator to join our clients team in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate insurance authorizations and verifications, contributing to seamless healthcare operations. Responsibilities :
- Verify patient insurance coverage and ensure all required authorizations are obtained prior to services.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to facilitate accurate and timely processing of claims.
- Monitor and update patient records in the Epic EMR system to reflect verified insurance information.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to insurance payments and coverage.
- Ensure prompt payment by identifying and addressing any issues with insurance claims.
- Handle referrals and verify insurance details to support efficient patient care.
- Communicate with patients regarding their insurance coverage and provide clarity on any concerns.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance policies.
- Generate reports on insurance verification activities and present findings to management.
- Work closely with the billing department to streamline reimbursement processes.
- Proven experience in medical insurance verification and authorization processes.
- Familiarity with health insurance coverage policies and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of Epic EMR or similar electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to ensure accurate processing of insurance payments and referrals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication abilities to liaise with patients, providers, and insurance companies.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
