Psychiatrist - Metropolitan Detention Center

Summary

The University of New Mexico, Department of Psychiatry, is seeking a full-time staff physician to serve as a Metropolitan Detention Center Site Psychiatrist. Psychiatrist will provide on-site psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for inmates referred by medical or / and clinical services staff. Provide written summaries of history, diagnosis and treatment course. Staff Psychiatrist will report directly to the site Psychiatric Director.

Minimum Job Requirements of a Psychiatrist :

• Graduate of an accredited medical school and have completed an appropriate psychiatric residency.
• Fully licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment.
• Current DEA registration.
• Preferably board certified or board eligible to practice psychiatry and has administrative experience in corrections medicine.
• Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirement
