Project Overview

We are seeking a Cost Engineer to support a major construction program in Amarillo, TX (and additional U.S. locations). This role is critical to ensuring accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting across complex, high-visibility projects. The Cost Engineer will collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to validate costs, monitor budgets, and ensure compliance with client requirements.

Role’s Responsibilities

Set up and maintain job cost reports, including budgets, commitments, forecasts, contingencies, and expenditures.

Track project costs by bid package, field order, and change category as defined by the client.

Develop and maintain project indicators, including visual cost graphics.

Validate cost proposals with subcontractors and vendors.

Conduct monthly reconciliations of project cost reports.

Interpret construction documents to quantify material requirements.

Perform on-screen take-offs and summarize material quantities.

Prepare and manage cost authorization packages.

Must Have Qualifications

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent degree / field experience.

Experience : Minimum 2 years of construction estimating or cost engineering experience.

Skill : Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).

Software Knowledge : Familiarity with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or Primavera P6.

Skill : Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and drawings.

Skill : Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to build effective relationships across teams.

Work Conditions : Ability to work extended hours or off-shifts to meet construction schedule requirements.

Eligibility : Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available).

Testing : Must pass company drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience : Industrial and / or high-tech semiconductor manufacturing project experience.

Certification : LEED Accredited Professional (or ability to achieve within 18 months).

Software Knowledge : Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.

Skill : Strong organizational ability to manage technical data and apply CSI specification system.
