Department : Ctr for Comparative Medicine

Job Summary :
Provides medical and surgical care for laboratory animals including anesthesia and surgical support for both large and small animals and gross necropsy evaluations as part of the program for animal health surveillance and disease control. Reviews protocols submitted by investigators as part of the IACUC review process, assists researchers in the development and preparation of IACUC protocols, and assists in the development of SOPs and other documents for CCM and the IACUC. Delivers various modes of training for CCM staff and others that use animals in research.
Please note : This position will require some travel between Chicago and Evanston campuses. This is an exempt position requiring occasional availability on some weekends and after normal working hours. This position requires shared on-call with the other veterinarians. Will require enrollment in the CCM occupational health program.

Performs clinical examinations of incoming and colony animals.

Preferred Qualifications :
Target hiring range for this position will be between $135,000-$195,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data
