7 : 15 am - 3 : 15 pm or 10 : 00 am - 6 : 00 pm

Job Summary :

The part-time lead teacher will implement a model infant - 3 year old classroom for a group of children and provide support to the director with the following : planning and implementing appropriate activities for children working with faculty and administration working with families of young children and modeling evidence-based practices in the classroom for early educator observers graduate and undergraduate students.

This is a grant-funded position which is renewable pending the continuation of funds annually.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Works to prepare and maintain childrens files including but not limited to progress reports attendance records health records and parent locator sheet.
• Implements policies and procedures that will contribute to the care growth and development of preschool children.
• Notifies CCAMPIS Co-coordinator of needs regarding inventory of materials supplies and equipment; orders replacements as necessary.
• Provides for the safety needs of the children.
• Demonstrates the ability to relate across cultural boundaries.
• Implements and maintains compliance with JSU and State Department of Education and any necessary accreditation requirements.
• Collaborates with other staff members on curriculum and best practices.
• Attends monthly faculty / staff meetings.
• Attends required meetings and trainings.
• Assist in preparing reports on the CCAMPIS program.
• Participates in professional development activities.
• Reads documents and material related to Child Development Center / Education such as state and federal rules and regulations state law professional publications to ensure compliance with rules and to keep current in the field.
• Reports any maintenance and equipment needs to the CCAMPIS Co-coordinator.
• Serves as a liaison to families updating them on the pre-school classroom and their child.
• Develops and implements the curriculum.
• Designs developmentally appropriate activities for children
• Communicates with families on both center and child updates
• Performs other duties as assigned.
