Job Summary :

We are seeking a Lead Field Service Engineer to provide technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation services for industrial packaging machinery. This role requires a hands-on approach, responding to customer inquiries and traveling to client locations (50-60% of the time) to perform on-site service and repairs. The ideal candidate will build strong customer relationships and have the opportunity to earn 1% commission on recommended and installed parts .

Key Responsibilities :

Set up, fine-tune, and program packaging machinery, including VFFS & HFFS Baggers, Scales, Check-Weighing Systems, Metal Detection, X-Ray Detection, Print & Conveyor Systems .
Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (F.A.T.) to ensure machines meet operational standards.
Respond promptly to customer service calls and maintenance requests .
Perform maintenance repairs, system overhauls, and troubleshooting on existing equipment.
Accurately log customer calls, service activities, and expenses related to service work.
Process invoices and service documentation efficiently.
Recommend additional services or parts to customers, with an opportunity to earn commission .

Travel Information :

50-60% travel to customer sites for on-site service.

50 per diem in cash for personal use during travel.

Flights typically depart from South Bend for easy access.

Flexible travel scheduling allowing for faster returns or additional comfort based on preference.

Dedicated travel assistant available to manage bookings and make adjustments.

Emphasis on minimizing weekend travel to support work-life balance.
