We have an opening for a Chief Scientist / Chief Scientific Officer who will lead all complex, customer-facing, and services-focused scientific projects along with our engineering team. This is a critical, visible, and high-impact, lab-services-oriented role, reporting to the CEO.
The Chief Scientific Officer will play an integral part in leading our technical team and managing all technical aspects of our advanced metrology services, starting with high-resolution Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS) services. While the exact day-to-day duties may vary with the needs of the company, the role will prioritize the following responsibilities with estimated percentage of time :
- Take ownership of all complex SIMS metrology projects and guide the technical team for data acquisition, data processing, & results interpretation / analysis, along with modern equipment operation, maintenance & troubleshooting ( 30%
- Interface with current and potential customers to provide state-of-the-art SIMS solutions and other advanced metrology consultancy for customer acquisition, retention, and unparalleled customer service ( 20%
- Lead, manage, and mentor Beamline's technical team for both routine and exotic SIMS analysis using our fleet of dynamic SIMS instruments ( 30%
- Provide strategic, technical, and operational insights to the executive leadership team on scientific projects with competitive advantage potential to enhance Beamline's presence in the industry and ecosystem ( 10%
- Travel to customer sites along with our sales team to provide scientific and technical insights into specific and general advanced metrology solutions for challenging problems faced by our customers ( 10%

15+ years of SIMS metrology experience (magnetic sector-SIMS, quadrupole-SIMS or TOF-SIMS, or a combination of all three), preferably with a focus on semiconductor manufacturing and quality control support.PhD or equivalent experience in a science or engineering field (Chemistry, Physics, or Materials Science & Engineering) (preferred).Prior experience in advanced metrology services preferred (both internal and external outsourced lab services considered)Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.This position is not eligible for new or existing Visa sponsorship.This position may require access to information subject to U.S. export control laws, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
