CNC Programmer
Van-Am Tool & Engineering is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our team. If you're passionate about precision, efficiency, and problem-solving, this is your opportunity to work on aerospace and defense components in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
What You'll Do
- Translate 3D CAD designs and blueprints into CNC programs.
- Write, modify, and optimize programs for lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining equipment.
- Determine machining sequences, tooling, and cutting paths for accuracy and efficiency.
- Run simulations / test parts and adjust programs as needed.
- Provide setup instructions and collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality teams.
- Continuously improve tooling utilization, setup times, and machining performance.
- Maintain program libraries and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards.
What You Bring
Associate's degree in CNC Programming, Manufacturing Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).3+ years of CNC programming in manufacturing or machining environments.Proficiency with CAD / CAM and CNC software, including SolidWorks, CAMWorks, Creo, ProE, CATIA, and PTC Creo (SolidWorks and CAMWorks preferred).Strong knowledge of machining principles, GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and advanced math (algebra / trigonometry).Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.Preferred :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering.Experience with advanced CAM systems and multi-axis machining.Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.Prior aerospace / defense manufacturing experience.Why Join Van-Am?
