General Summary :
Under the supervision of the ASC Director of Surgical Services and / or nursing staff, is accountable for the care, maintenance and stocking of technical equipment and supplies. Helps to create and maintain a clean, safe environment for the care of patients. The Endoscopy Technician is considered a member of the procedural team.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities :
Assist the physician with all endoscopic procedures and throughout the endoscopic rooms as follows :
- Use and maintenance of equipment.
- Use of sterile technique.
- Transporting and moving patients via stretcher, bed, wheelchair or ambulatory
- Prepare and maintain the procedure room with the necessary equipment and supplies.
- Clean and restock the procedure and scope cleaning rooms with necessary supplies.
- Reprocesses scopes and accessories according to manufacturer’s instructions and ASC policies and procedures.
- Completes and maintains records of scopes cleaned.
