About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Innovation Officer (CINO) to lead the charge in defining and driving the long-term innovation strategy. The ideal candidate is a visionary technologist and systems thinker with a proven track record in product innovation, advanced R&D, or technology strategy within the security, biometrics, or AI sectors. As the CINO, you will be responsible for shaping the future of biometric identity, secure access control, and AI-driven security systems, with a focus on privacy, performance, and trust. This executive role demands a leader who can anticipate and evaluate emerging trends, source and test novel technologies, and partner with cross-functional teams to operationalize innovative features and platforms. Key responsibilities for the CINO include owning and leading the company's innovation strategy with a 3-10 year time horizon, creating and managing internal innovation initiatives, and cultivating external innovation pipelines. The successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of hardware / software convergence, edge AI, and secure embedded systems, and a strong background in commercializing novel products or patents in the security or biometric space. Executive leadership experience in a scaling tech company, particularly in a startup or growth-stage environment, is essential. The role also requires a technical degree in a related field, with an MS or PhD preferred, and familiarity with privacy, encryption, authentication protocols, and regulatory trends. Bonus skills include experience with AI / ML model development, a patent portfolio in biometrics or computer vision, and exposure to standards bodies or public policy.
