Job Details
Responsibilities :
As a Permanent Litigation Associate Attorney, you will be expected to manage a broad range of responsibilities that include, but are not limited to :
1. Representing clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation.
2. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents on behalf of clients.
3. Examining legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuits.
4. Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
5. Gathering evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.
6. Defending depositions and managing discovery.
7. Conducting legal research and analysis of law sources such as statutes, legal articles, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, etc., for trial, presentation before courts or other legal proceedings.
8. Managing all phases of litigation from investigation, pleadings and discovery to pre-trial, trial, settlement and appeal.
Qualifications :
To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications :
1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the State Bar of Texas is required.
3. Minimum of 2-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in Products Liability and general negligence.
4. Proven background in defending depositions.
5. Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong ability to draft and review legal documents, analyze legal advice and apply legal principles.
6. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels within the organization.
7. Strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial / commercial issues.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and cases.
10. High degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas.
11. Excellent judgment and ability to understand and manage a range of sensitive issues.
12. Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with both internal and external customers.
