BUSINESS UNIT : TERMINALS
Kinder Morgan is the largest independent terminal operator in North America, providing a strong, reliable network of 144 terminals serving our customers’ storage, distribution, blending and logistical needs. Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products. We have a combined liquids storage capacity of approximately 151 million barrels and handle about 59 million tons of dry bulk materials annually.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Account for all people entering plant
- Perimeter check of plant to ensure facility is secure
- Staging office / security during incidents
- Monitor CIMA radio and contact CIMA during incidents
- Perform safety orientation for visitors / 3rd parties
- Monitor contractors / 3rd parties for safety violations
- Function as historian during incidents
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
EDUCATION :
High School Diploma or GED Equivalency,Attributes listed below are highly desirable :Two or four year degree with any discipline from accredited college or university or
Honorable discharge US military, any branch
EXPERIENCE / SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE :
Some security guard experience preferred Attributes listed below are highly desirable :Three years terminal Operations / Maintenance experience, orFive years of general industry experienceCERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :
Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurersMust pass and complete Safety training / certification as required by customers to work in their facilities and as required by Kinder Morgan at all locationsMust obtain and / or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones; such as background checks by both the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security, i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employedCOMPETENCIES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
PC literacy and software navigation skills in a window-based environment are essentialMust be able to effectively communicate verbally with all levels of managementMust be willing to work in outdoors environmentMust be willing to work overtime with little or no notice during the week, weekends, holidays, etc as dictated by operationsAbility to work rotating shifts, including day, night, weekends and holidaysIn order to perform the essential duties, regular work attendance is requiredMust be willing and able to work as a part of team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedules, focus attention to details, and follow work rulesWORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Previous chemical, refining or terminal experience is preferred
