Position description

The Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invite applications for the Director of the Labor & Delivery Unit (L&D). This position will be under the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Associate or Full Professor level.

Applicants must possess an M.D. / D.O. degree or equivalent and be eligible to obtain a California Medical License. Candidates must also be board certified or eligible in the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and in the subspecialty of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM). The incumbent should have a successful track record of clinical expertise in inpatient and outpatient maternal and fetal medicine (including the ability to independently perform the breadth of complex obstetric procedures, ultrasounds and fetal interventions), academic excellence in research and / or creative work, and dedication to teaching medical students and residents. Candidates with excellent communication, administrative, and leadership experience are encouraged to apply.

The Director of Labor and Delivery at UCLA-Ronald Reagan in Westwood is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the clinical, educational, and operational aspects of the Labor and Delivery Unit at the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center. This incumbent will serve as a clinical leader and strategic partner, working closely with the Chair and Executive Medical Director of Ob / Gyn, the Director of the OB Service Line, faculty, residents, nursing staff, other specialties, and administration to ensure the highest standards of patient care, teaching, and research on Labor and Delivery.

This position also includes direct patient care in the inpatient setting at Westwood and / or Santa Monica; shared on-call duties with the Maternal-Fetal Medicine and generalist pool; and outpatient practice in UCLA Health System Maternal-Fetal Medicine offices.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience, credentials and prior accomplishments.
