Engineering Technologist - Entry Level

Location : Birmingham, AL

We are seeking a motivated Engineering Technologist to join a power distribution team in Birmingham, AL. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for recent engineering graduates who are eager to begin their careers in the utility and power industry. The Engineering Technologist will play an important role in evaluating options that allow for safe, efficient, and cost-effective designs of power distribution systems.

This role offers a clear growth path within the utility engineering field, with opportunities for advancement as you gain knowledge and experience.

What You'll Do

• Input field data into proprietary software systems and make necessary design adjustments.
• Prepare complete project / job packages including :
• Material lists
• Labor estimates
• Site and construction drawings for electrical facility installations
• Learn and apply utility construction practices on both public right-of-way and private land.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure designs meet safety, efficiency, and cost standards.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical highly preferred; other disciplines considered).
