Summary
The cook supervises food preparation and serves meals and snacks to the center children. The cook is also responsible for the cleanliness, inventory, and safety of the kitchen. Pay determined by experience.
Duties
- Follow menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines and food restrictions.
- Prepare, cook, and deliver meals.
- Maintain hygiene and safety of kitchen in accordance with state licensing requirements.
- Keep inventory of food, paper products, cleaning supplies, and other items in the kitchen.
- Assist delivery driver with all food and supply orders weekly from store.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- And all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Maintain a valid First Aid and CPR CertificationObtain Food Preparation and Nutrition Training certification (four hours) within first 30 days of employmentMaintain a satisfactory criminal records and comprehensive background checkComplete 18 hours of professional development training annuallyAbility to lift 30 lbsAbility to stand for long periods of timeAbility to move as the position requires2 years food service experience, preferably in a school / day care centerBenefits
