Our client is looking to fill the role of Pharmaceutical Facilities Lab Technician. This position involves building and equipment maintenance, vendor coordination, event support, and comprehensive facility management tasks. The technician will serve as backup to the Facilities Manager for key operating systems and ensure seamless laboratory operations.
Responsibilities :
Technology & Systems Management
Utilize work order management systems for efficient task tracking
Monitor equipment performance and maintenance schedules
Manage asset tracking systems and maintain accurate records
Perform data entry and system updates
Maintenance & Repair Operations
Conduct troubleshooting, corrective maintenance, and preventative maintenance on :
Process equipment and laboratory systems
Building support and utility systems
Automation systems
Minimize operational disruptions through proactive maintenance
Ensure all maintenance activities are safe, reliable, and cost-effective
Laboratory Support Services
Perform routine laboratory maintenance tasks :
Clean water baths and defrost freezers
Refill carboys and stock consumables (flasks, pipette tips, tubes)
Monitor and replace high-pressure lab gases
Empty vacuum flasks and monitor equipment performance
Manage laboratory stock room operations :
Organize inventory and maintain stock levels
Conduct regular inventory assessments
Order supplies and stock incoming items
Facility Operations
Execute customer work requests promptly and professionally
Handle shipping and receiving duties when required
Coordinate office and laboratory relocations
Assist with space planning initiatives
Support environmental, health, safety, and waste management programs
Compliance & Safety
Maintain compliance with OSHA, IACUC, and GxP regulations
Attend mandatory safety training sessions
Follow all facility safety policies and procedures
Assist in developing facility-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Immediately address unsafe conditions or compliance issues
Stakeholder Relations
Collaborate professionally with employees, leadership, vendors, and visitors
Support on-site and off-site events as needed
Escalate risks and concerns appropriately throughout the organization
Required Qualifications :
Experience
5+ years in building services / operations within pharmaceutical environments
Pharmaceutical, biotech, laboratory, or vivarium experience required
Facility maintenance experience preferred
Knowledge of GxP standards is advantageous
Skills & Competencies
Strong computer proficiency with facility management systems
Excellent data entry capabilities
Self-motivated with ability to work independently
Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
Exceptional oral and written communication abilities
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Capable of working with respirator equipment
Willingness to work overtime, early starts, or late hours as business needs require
Availability for weekend and holiday work when necessary
Education Requirements
High school diploma from an accredited institution
Vocational or trade school training preferred
