What You Will Do
As theEvent Manager,your contribution to the organization will be todeliver exceptional guest experiences atestablishedfinancial margins foryourportionof events assigned under your umbrellaand to supportoverall initiatives to deliverexceptional guest experiences at all events globally.
Essential Job Duties & Functions
- Responsible for the planning and on-site delivery ofyour function (hospitality / logistics)for12+ events annually ranging from 200 to 12,000 guests per eventbeginning with event launch up to a year in advance of event date
- Physical and digital ticket management such as receiving, inventory checks, seat assignment and distribution
- Fulfillment of guest orders through a multi-step process including building excel reports, generating shipping labels, collaborating with suppliers, quality assurance, packing and assembly, detailed documentation, etc.
- Coordinating with the internal graphic design team to produce required assets such as credentials, signage, large format graphics, etc.
- Scheduling and timeline management for both guests and staff across fulfillment, transportation, hotel check-ins, tours, and experiences
- Vendor / supplierselection, negotiation, contracting, and ongoing management for services such as transportation, staffing services, gifts, etc.
- Settingobjectivesand prioritizing tasks foryouand your team to ensuresuccessfulevent delivery and execution
- Ensure accuracy andtimelycompletionof team deliverables
- Provide hands-on career development and coaching to your team
- Lead 1+direct report(s)
- Accountable forassignedportion(s)ofthebudgetforyourevents ; equally holding your team accountable for budget management
- Maximize budgetutilizationthrough negotiation and internal collaboration
- Ensureaccurateandtimelytracking of planned and confirmed expenses
- Tightly manage your own on-site expenses and inspire fiscal responsibilities in fellow travelers.
- Collaborate with department leaders tounderstandsales projections and requiredbudget adjustments
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing or related field4+ years progressive experience in event planning and managementLive / sporting events experience preferred1+ year(s) experience leadingpeopleDirect experience managing budgets of at least150KUSDProficient computer skills including but not limited to Excel, CRM software, and project management toolsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentStrong time management and prioritization skillsHighly adaptable and comfortable making decisions in new or changing situationsBi / multilingual preferredPhysical Demands
Full-time, in-office based in Charlotte, NCProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerExtensive walking and standing for periods greater than 12 hours while at eventsMust be able to lift up to 30 poundsFlexibility to work long hours and weekends, as neededWilling and eligible to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% - targeted travel 18-25%Eligible to work in the United States
