Summary
The Senior Accountant is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Controller. The role oversees day-to-day accounting operations and supervises one Accounts Payable Specialist. The Senior Accountant ensures accurate and timely reporting, compliance with GAAP, and effective internal controls. You'll collaborate across departments to enhance financial processes and reporting systems as APCH continues strengthening its in-house accounting functions.

Lead monthly and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses.Supervise and support the Accounts Payable Specialist to ensure accurate and timely payments, coding, and documentation.Review grant and contract reporting to ensure compliance with restricted / unrestricted funding requirements.Support preparation of monthly financial statements, Finance Committee and Board reports.Review and ensure accurate revenue recognition in alignment with GAAP and nonprofit standards.Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, ensuring accurate general ledger posting and timely month-end close.Assist with annual audit preparation, Form 990, and 1099 filings.Collaborate with program and operations teams to improve financial processes and support budget management.Maintain and refine internal controls, accounting procedures, and system documentation.Support development of new reports and automation using Sage Intacct and Salesforce.Maintain confidentiality and uphold APCH's HEART values-Honesty, Empathy, Agency, Respect, and Transparency-in all work.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required).Minimum 3-5 years of progressive nonprofit accounting experience, including grants management, financial reporting, and audit preparation.Experience supervising staff preferred.Proficiency in Sage Intacct and Salesforce (preferred).Strong command of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting.Advanced Excel and proficiency with Google Workspace.Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.Commitment to APCH's mission and trauma-informed culture.Benefits
