Data Analyst

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Data Analyst to join our team. The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can help drive business decisions. This role will involve working closely with various departments to understand their data needs and translate complex findings into actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Collection & Preparation :

  • Gather data from various sources (databases, APIs, spreadsheets, etc.) and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Clean, transform, and preprocess raw data to make it suitable for analysis.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and automated data collection processes where appropriate.

Data Analysis & Interpretation :

  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, anomalies, and relationships within datasets.
  • Apply statistical methods and analytical techniques to extract meaningful insights.
  • Develop and execute queries (SQL, etc.) to retrieve and manipulate data.
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and track their performance over time.
  • Reporting & Visualization :

  • Create clear, concise, and impactful reports and dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Excel).
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in an easy-to-understand manner, both visually and verbally.
  • Develop and automate recurring reports to monitor business performance.
  • Collaboration & Communication :

  • Work closely with business stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Product, Operations) to understand their data requirements and business challenges.
  • Translate business questions into analytical problems and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Communicate complex analytical concepts and results to non-technical audiences.
  • Provide support and training to colleagues on data tools and best practices.
  • Problem Solving & Optimization :
  • Identify opportunities for data-driven process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Contribute to the development of data strategies and roadmaps.
  • Continuously learn and apply new analytical techniques and tools.
  • Qualifications :

    Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline. (Master's degree a plus).

    Technical Skills :

  • Proficiency in SQL : Strong ability to write complex queries, join tables, and extract data.
  • Spreadsheet Software : Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, data validation).
  • Data Visualization Tools : Experience with at least one major BI tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik Sense).
  • Programming (Plus) : Familiarity with Python or R for data manipulation, analysis, and statistical modeling is a significant plus.
  • Statistical Knowledge : Understanding of basic statistical concepts (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression, correlation).
  • Soft Skills :

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive and curious mindset with a passion for data.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with A / B testing methodologies.
  • Domain-specific experience (e.g., e-commerce, finance, healthcare, marketing analytics).
  • Knowledge of machine learning concepts and algorithms.
