The Assistant Professor's responsibility encompasses education, scholarship, and service. Demonstrates loyalty to the mission, policies, standards, and regulations of the respective department, school, and the University, and follows the administrative policies set up by the University and the individual school. Performs other duties as needed.
Earned doctorate and MSW degree from a CSWE accredited program plus at least two to five years of teaching and professional clinical experience. Professional certification, licensure or registration as appropriate. LCSW preferred.
Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in both classroom and online teaching and presentations. Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position as well as Canvas and Banner. Able to communicate effectively on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person, on the telephone, in online synchronous and asynchronous teaching, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position. Has experience teaching in an MSW Program at both the generalist and advanced clinical curricula levels, demonstrated experience and knowledge of online teaching modalities, including directing online student clinical simulations and consultation.
