Overview

Our client, a fast-growing cannabis wholesale start-up, has an immediate opening for a Chief Financial Officer. This role will own FP&A, cash / treasury (13-week), GAAP close, investor / lender relations, and scalable systems (ERP / BI). They will also partner with the CEO to drive growth, margin, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Stand up budgets / forecasts, KPI dashboards, and controls
  • Manage cash flow, credit facilities / ABL, and banking / credit union relationships
  • Oversee close, audits, tax (incl. 280E), and seed-to-sale (METRC) reconciliations
  • Negotiate vendor terms and improve inventory / COGS visibility
  • Build / mentor a small, high-performing team

Requirements

  • CFO / VP Finance / Controller experience in start-up / high growth or highly regulated distribution (beverage / chem / med-surg, etc.)
  • Fundraising or lender-facing track record; ERP / BI implementation (e.g., NetSuite / Intacct / Power BI)
  • CPA or MBA required (both preferred)
