Operations Maintenance Supervisor $27.37 to $37.89 per hour The purpose of this position is to direct and plan activities and staff in the operation, construction, repair and maintenance of the City of Alabaster sanitary sewer collections system. Duties include :
- Supervise, train, direct, and evaluate direct reports; address employee concerns and problems.
- Plans, coordinates, supervises and evaluates collections activities; provides guidance and direction to staff.
- Coordinates with Construction and Development Supervisor and Environmental Services Manager to ensure all basic needs and functions of the collection system are maintained.
- Assist in the development and ongoing management of a CMOM program for the collection system.
- Responds to customer calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Inspects, maintains, repairs and operates all sewer lines and pump stations.
- Supervise the repair, maintenance and replacement of motors, pumps and other equipment.
- Installs or replaces equipment and machinery according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Inspects lift stations to ensure proper operation, diagnoses problems and make necessary repairs and reports problems to Environmental Services Manager.
- Ensure lift station grounds and easements are clean and neat.
- Maintains parts and equipment inventory, completes purchase order requests for parts and supplies as needed, keeps records of preventive maintenance and repairs performed.
- Assists the director in planning, budgeting and reporting as required. Fills in for the Construction and Development Supervisor as needed.
- Regular & predictable attendance is required.
Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma or G.E.D. and five years or more of experience performing wastewater collection, operations. Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama Wastewater Operator Grade IC certification or higher.Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama driver's license. Experience operating excavation equipment and managing construction crews is preferred. CDL class A or B is preferred. The physical activities required for this position :
f requent standing, walking, sitting, using hands to operate tools or controls, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, climbing; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling. Lifting : Up to 25 pounds occasionally.S pecial vision requirements :
Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
