The City of Moreno Valley is looking for a Customer Services Representative to support the Electric Utilities Division.

THE POSITION
The Customer Service Representative plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service to customers of the Citys electric utility. This position serves as the primary point of contact for utility customers by handling inquiries payments service applications and account resolutions via phone email and in person. The role demands a high level of professionalism empathy and accuracy in every interaction. Representatives are expected to interpret policies resolve issues with tact and maintain detailed records while supporting billing and accounting functions. This entry-level position offers opportunities for cross-training technical development and meaningful contributions to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for this Customer Service Representative role is a proactive empathetic and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a public-facing environment. They bring at least three years of experience in customer service particularly in municipal services. They demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering accurate respectful and solution-focused support across multiple communication channels. They are an active listener who takes the time to understand customer concerns fully and consistently go above and beyond to ensure each customer feels heard supported and satisfied with their experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A combination of education training and experience equivalent to completion of high school or GED and at least three (3) years of responsible customer service experience including cashiering cash handling and data entry is required.
ABOUT THE MORENO VALLEY UTILITY DIVISION
The Moreno Valley Utility (MVU) manages the operation maintenance and business planning of the Citys electric utility. The City began serving new customers in February 2004providing safe reliable and economical public electric service with a focus on innovative customer solutions infrastructure enhancement community development and environmentally responsible resource management.
