Description of Primary Duties
The Practitioner-in-Residence will :
- Provide direct patient care in the Missouri State University Physical Therapy Clinic, including both insurance-based and pro bono services.
- Serve as a clinical expert in orthopedic physical therapy and manual therapy techniques.
- Supervise and mentor Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students in the provision of care within the pro bono clinic.
- Assist in the instruction and supervision of students in musculoskeletal laboratory courses, contributing clinical expertise to support hands-on learning.
- Participate in department activities and initiatives as assigned by the Physical Therapy Program Director.
- Serve as a resource and role model for students and faculty in the application of evidence-based orthopedic physical therapy.
- Engage in professional service or clinical scholarship

Hold an active license as a physical therapist and be eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri.Hold a Cyriax-based advanced clinical practice manual therapy certificationHave at least fifteen years of orthopedic clinical experience in an outpatient, manual therapy-focused setting, treating patients with acute, recurrent, and chronic orthopedic / neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction.Have experience serving as a clinical instructor, supervising and mentoring physical therapy students in clinical education settingsDemonstrate effective communication and relationship-building skillsLink to Job Description Open Date 05 / 27 / Close Date (If Close Date is blank then the posting is considered open until filled)
