Headquartered near Corvallis, Oregon, we are a financial institution that has been in business for over 50 years! We service the Credit Union as well as all things financial guidance!

Position Overview

The Controller will oversee the financial operations of the credit union / financial institution, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in managing the budgeting and forecasting processes while providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making and enhance financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic financial planning and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and oversee audit management activities.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement in financial performance.
  • Develop and implement financial controls to safeguard the institution's assets and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee taxation processes and ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns and payments.
  • Manage regulatory reporting to ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a master's degree or professional certification (CPA, CMA) is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial management role within a credit union or financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, accounting principles, and financial analysis techniques.
  • Experience with compliance, audit management, and risk management practices.
  • Solid understanding of taxation and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
