PROGRAM TECHNICIAN II

Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of the Crime Analyst Supervisor (CAS) of the Firearms Application and Release Unit, the Program Technician (PT) II in the Law Enforcement Release (LER) Team is responsible for tasks associated with the processing of documents and / or other firearm related applications which have been identified to criminal history records and / or other Law Enforcement Release applications. Duties of the PT II will include, but are not limited to :

• Contact all levels of criminal justice agencies
• Initiates / performs database system inquiries
• Enters, modifies, updates / verifies information in the database system
• Open, sort, and log mail
• Sort and file forms / reports
• Draft form letters
• Maintain files
• Operate office equipment
• Provide assistance / support to the Crime Analyst I staff

Working Conditions

DOJ has adopted telework for employees who can effectively perform their essential work functions remotely. However, there is no telework available for this position.
