POSITION OVERVIEW :
Jennmar is seeking an experienced and strategic Tax Director to lead and manage all aspects of the company’s tax function. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the company’s tax planning, compliance, and reporting functions across multiple entities, including partnerships and corporations. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise across a broad range of tax areas and will play a critical role in advising the business and ensuring compliance with all tax regulations.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s in Taxation preferred
- Proficiency in CCH Axces is desirable
- Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent status preferred
- 7+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting and / or industry
QUALIFICATIONS :
Extensive knowledge of federal and state taxation for both partnerships and corporationsStrong knowledge of accounting processes with proficient understanding of the Internal Revenue CodeExperience with sales and use taxes, R&D credits, and multistate taxation;Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skillsProven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environmentDetailed organizational skills with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerized data-entry systemsStrong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to a diverse groups of people while maintaining confidentiality of highly sensitive informationDependability to be consistently at work and on time with ability to work overtimeTeam member mentality with ability to work independently adhering to established internal control procedures with minimal supervision and quality assurance mindsetRESPONSIBILITIES :
Oversee and manage all direct and indirect tax functions, including federal, state, and local income taxes, sales and use taxes, property and other tax filingsEnsure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns for multiple entitiesLead the preparation and review of tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740Develop and implement effective tax strategies to optimize the company’s overall tax position while ensuring compliance with applicable lawsResearch and capitalize on all available credit opportunities, working with internal teams and external advisors as neededSupport external audits and manage relationships with tax authoritiesStay current on tax legislation and assess its impact on the businessProvide tax guidance on business transactions, acquisitions, restructuring, and intercompany transactionsManage and develop a small internal tax team and / or coordinate with external consultants and advisorsExcellent benefits include medical with a standard PPO plan with deductibles as low as $1,500 and wellness credit up to $750; voluntary 401k plan currently matching up to 12%; voluntary dental and vision plans; free telemedicine services; basic life and short term disability coverage.
