Receptionist
Are you a friendly, resourceful multitasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Our Township is seeking a receptionist who will serve as the welcoming face and voice of our organization. This is a busy, high-visibility position that requires grace, professionalism, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities :
- Greet and assist visitors with warmth and efficiency.
- Answer and route incoming calls, often juggling multiple lines and walk-in inquiries.
- Use problem-solving skills to determine the appropriate department or staff member for each caller, especially when callers are unsure or frustrated.
- Handle situations where callers are unhappy about reaching voicemail, and work to resolve concerns diplomatically.
- Maintain a calm and courteous demeanor while managing competing demands.
- Represent the Township with positivity and professionalism at all times.
Ideal Candidate :
Skilled in multitasking and prioritizing under pressure.Comfortable asking clarifying questions to direct calls appropriately.Able to de-escalate tense interactions with tact and empathy.Has a strong sense of responsibility as the first point of contact for the public.Qualifications :
2 years of professional experience in an office environment.Proficiency in computerized office environment including the Microsoft Office Suite of products.Superior customer service skills as this position is highly involved with the public.Professional in appearance, attitude and work products.Ability to work at a very fast pace with little supervision.Capable of successful passing of drug / alcohol screenings.Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to work as part of a team and independently with self-directed priorities and to operate in an efficient and organized manner with strong work ethic and initiative.Ability to properly handle material of a highly confidential nature and exercise discretion.Possession strong attention to detail.
