Job Description

The Automotive Title Clerk is responsible for processing all vehicle titles and registrations accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This position plays a key role in supporting both the sales and accounting departments by maintaining proper documentation tracking title status and ensuring all files are complete and error-free.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in dealership administration title processing or the automotive industry with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Process new and used vehicle titles registrations and related DMV paperwork

Verify title information lien releases and vehicle ownership documentation for accuracy

Submit and track title and registration paperwork through the states online portal

Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations regarding vehicle titling and reporting

Process payoffs for trade-ins and follow up with financial institutions for lien releases

Coordinate with the sales department accounting office and DMV to resolve any title discrepancies

Maintain detailed and organized records for all vehicle transactions

Process dealer trades wholesale purchases and out-of-state deliveries

Provide administrative support to the office team as needed

Qualifications

2 years of experience in automotive title or registration processing preferred

Knowledge of New Hampshire DMV and title requirements strongly preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and DMS systems (Dealertrack)

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication and follow-up skills

Dependable professional and customer-focused attitude

High school diploma or equivalent required
