PSC Group is now hiring a self-motivated Tax Accountant to join our corporate office in Baton Rouge, LA! The Tax Accountant is responsible for assisting with administration of sales / use, personal property, franchise and excise taxes, SOS registrations and annual reporting, and unclaimed property filings. This position will perform activities related to the preparation of tax filings, tax payments, audit management, financial accounting, tax authority notice research, as well as continuous improvements & special tax projects.

Work Schedule : Monday - Friday (7 : 30 AM - 4 : 30 PM / 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM / 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 30 PM)

Job Duties & Responsibilities :

• Hybrid work schedule of 3 days in office and 2 days remote
• Compile and analyze monthly sales tax data to prepare and file the multi-state and local sales / use tax returns.
• Complete new state tax registrations and SOS registrations
• Research tax notices and prepare responses to taxing authorities.
• Prepare ancillary returns for the company including personal property taxes, unclaimed property, and associated compliance.
• Prepare and file IRS quarterly Excise tax forms.
• Prepare and file various census reports on a quarterly and annual basis.
• Calculate, prepare, and file various franchise tax returns.
• Prepare annual tax schedules for external tax firm in support of federal and state income tax filings
• Provide assistance with various audits and special projects.
• Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job
