Job Overview
The Development Manager is responsible for driving the organization’s fundraising and community partnership efforts through strategic development initiatives, donor engagement, and public outreach. This role will lead fundraising campaigns, cultivate donor, and sponsor relationships, coordinate community engagement activities, and ensure CCAV maintains a strong and compelling presence with supporters and stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Included but not limited to) :
- Facilitate fundraising plans that reflect the unique makeup of AV Donors.
- Re-engage the founding doctors and honorary board.
- Utilize the collection of CCAV’s Donor database and the website collection.
- Maximize grant branding dollars, when possible, in advertising.
- Plan a greater exposure beyond the Executive Director at meetings that would be effective.
- Have prepared messaging for handling community crises.
- Work alongside the Operations Director and Executive Assistant on social media efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Fundraising and Donor Engagement
Develop and implement annual fundraising strategies, including individual giving, corporate sponsorships, grants, and special events.Cultivate, solicit, and steward donor relationships to ensure retention and increased giving levels.Re-engage CCAV founders and honorary board to strengthen donor pipeline.Maintain donor database (e.g., Salesforce, DonorPerfect, or similar CRM), ensuring accurate and timely entry, reporting, and segmentation.Coordinate donor acknowledgments, recognition activities, and impact reporting.Collaborate with leadership to support major donor strategies and capital campaigns.Communications & Donor Materials
Oversee donor-facing communications including quarterly newsletters, fundraising appeals, annual reports, and donor impact stories.Ensure consistent messaging and branding in all development-related materials.Partner with the Operations Director and Executive Assistance for strategic alignment of social media (not day-to-day posting), ensuring donor campaigns and community impact stories are amplified.Prepare messaging for handling community crises and represent CCAV in media inquiries when needed.Events & Campaigns
Plan, promote, and execute fundraising and cultivation events (galas, donor appreciation, community events).Collaborate with staff and board committees to expand donor and community engagement opportunities.Maximize grant branding dollars, when possible, in event promotion or advertising.Community Partnerships & Outreach
Represent CCAV at community events, conferences, civic meetings, and coalitions.Build partnerships with local businesses, healthcare providers, schools, and civic groups to expand support through sponsorships, in-kind donations, and volunteer engagement.Lead volunteer retention strategies and volunteer-led programming.Increase organizational visibility by ensuring consistent presence at community meetings beyond the Executive Director.Administration & Collaboration
Work alongside the Operations Director and Executive Assistant to create an annual executive summary.Prepare development reports for leadership and the board of directors.Other duties as assigned.Required Skills / Abilities :
Excellent writing / editing and verbal communication skills.Strong relationship-building and donor stewardship abilities.Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies.Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or donor relations.Proven success in fundraising, sponsorship development and donor engagement.Experience with donor CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, DonorPerfect).Familiarity with event planning, grant funding processes, and volunteer engagement.Work Environment
