We’re currently seeking an Industrial Maintenance Assistant to join our growing team. This full-time, onsite position is based at our Clackamas location. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 6 : 00 AM to 2 : 30 PM , with flexibility required to support urgent business needs.

Hourly pay range : $20.00 – $23.00 (DOE)

About the position :

The Industrial Maintenance Assistant plays a vital role in assisting with the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of production machinery and plant systems. Under immediate supervision, performs semi-skilled work in connection with machine maintenance of a wide variety of machines and equipment, and performs general building and property maintenance. Assists in Industrial Maintenance in all other duties.

What You’ll Do :

  • Assist maintenance technicians with routine maintenance and repairs of manufacturing equipment, including conveyors, motors, pumps, and production lines.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning parts, changing filters, replacing belts, and lubricating machinery.
  • Support installation and set-up of new machinery or equipment modifications.
  • Organize tools, equipment, and materials to ensure technicians have everything needed for efficient repairs.
  • Clean and maintain work areas, mechanical rooms, and maintenance shop to ensure safety and organization.
  • Monitor equipment for signs of wear or malfunction and report findings to the maintenance team.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in emergency breakdown repairs as needed to minimize production downtime.
  • What we’re looking for :

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and maintenance practices.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to follow directions and learn new skills.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and work in hot, cold, or noisy environments.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including overtime or weekends if needed.
  • PREFERRED SKILLS :

  • Forklift or scissor lift experience / certification
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems or troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with lockout / tagout (LOTO) and other manufacturing safety procedures
  • Experience using CMMS software for maintenance tracking
  • Education and / or Experience :

    Less than high school education, or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
