Christy Lynn is a Women's Advanced Contemporary Brand and is looking for a Designer to join the Design Team. This position will work closely with the Creative Director, and Senior Designer to design the line from concept to final show. Please note that the design studio is located in Houston, TX. Open for relocation for a full time position.

Responsibilities :

Assist the Creative Director and the Senior Designer throughout design development process
Creating on-trend designs that supplement the development of product consistent with the brand strategy of the company;
Development of new ideas through competitive shopping, trend research, and design recommendations;
Assists with all aspects of design packages – sketching, tech packs, creating and maintaining design line sheets
Maintain consistent, proactive communication with cross-functional partners, including the China development team, Production, and Creative.
With the direction of the Creative Director, successfully implement hand drawn or computer aided sketches, embroidery layouts, and embellishment layouts
Participate in fittings and document clear and precise notes during fitting
Must be able to prepare and maintain tech packs for initial development
Manage a team to maintain an organized fabric and trims library
Oversee CAD development with the team
Ability to work in fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency
Sweater knowledge is a plus
Must be able to manage a team and interns.
Partner with Production and Tech Design to create tech packs and communicate vision behind fit and product design, ensuring execution, quality, and desired margin targets are achieved.
Responsible for fabric and trim selection.

Requirements :

Experience of 4-8+ years in womenswear collections

Experience working with overseas suppliers;

Experience in the use of fabrics and how they relate to garment design;

Strong fashion and creative sense;

Excellent design and sketching skills for technical drawings and freeform renderings;

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment;

Proactive and self-motivated

Organized with a strong ability to prioritize multiple deadline driven tasks and flexibility to adapt to a fast paced and frequent changes

Possesses mocking, draping, sewing and other technical skills related to garment making

Experience in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office;
