Senior Accountant

A leading Property & Casualty insurance company in Stamford is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its rapidly growing. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in accounting or audit within financial services , with a strong preference for CPA certification and insurance industry experience . A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist with statutory and regulatory reporting specific to P&C insurance operations.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and examinations.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and documentation.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and system enhancements.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities as needed.
