Overview
Independently perform a broad range of diagnostic ultrasound exams—from routine to highly specialized—supporting abdominal, small parts, OB / GYN, vascular (arterial / venous), chest / pleural, and procedural guidance for veteran patients.
Primary Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Review orders and histories; validate anatomical area of interest; select appropriate protocols.
Perform abdominal, pelvic / gynecologic, vascular (carotid, venous insufficiency / DVT, arterial), and small-parts exams; conduct chest / pleural and aortic evaluations.
Perform color / power Doppler and quantitative Doppler measurements to assess blood flow.
Assist radiologists during invasive ultrasound-guided procedures.
Optimize image quality, annotate accurately, and transmit to PACS ; document in VistA / CPRS .
Maintain equipment QC, probe care, and infection control standards; manage room turnover and supplies.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years full-time, current ultrasound experience within the last 3 years .
Current ARDMS or ARRT (sonography) with two or more advanced disciplines : Abdominal (required) plus OB / GYN and / or RVT .
BLS ; PACS / EMR proficiency; strong Doppler skills; English fluency.
